The Climate Really Does Change: A Warning on Melting Arctic Polar Glaciers . . . in 1922

“Here is an example of a page that I posted this week: on global warming. Specifically, it deals with arctic icebergs. I posted it as soon as I heard about it. It’s a newspaper report from November. November 1922.”

Are you “up against the wall?”

Are you “up against the wall?” If so, don’t worry because our Creator God also created the wall (and everything else)! And, it is our Creator God who causes “all things to work together for good to those who love Him, and who are called according to His purpose.” 1 What this means is that no matter what kind of “wall” we may be up against, if it is in God’s best interest to remove that wall, He will. After all, God’s will, “will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” 2

Three of the most stunning deliverances from natural obstacles are the survival of Noah and his family and a bunch of animals when God wiped out the entire civilization of the earth, 3 the parting of the Red Sea to allow the Israelites to safely escape from Egyptian tyranny, 4 and the dividing or the Jordan River when Joshua led the descendants of Abraham into the Promised Land of Canaan. 5

Do you trust in God, or do you merely believe in Him?

King Nebuchadnezzar, demonstrating that even non-Christians will occasionally admit of God’s greatness, proclaims:

Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! Daniel 3.28

The King next made a decree that, “any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.” 6 Yet, as Nebuchadnezzar’s unfolding lifestyle would prove, there is a big difference between “believing” in God, and “trusting” in God. Approximately a year later when the King was “walking about the royal palace of Babylon,” he said: “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?” 7 No sooner had Nebuchadnezzar uttered these thoughts than “a voice fell from heaven:”

Whatever the method God, uses to draw a person to Him, the message clear: In God we are anything He pleases, but in ourselves we are nothing. Daniel 4.35.
